Untilt filters this iPhone's DNS lookups on the device through Apple's Network Extension. 219 curated sportsbook, DFS, and prediction-market domains return nothing while a wall is up; all other traffic passes through untouched. No account, no proxy, no server reading your activity. This page documents the mechanism, the curation, and — deliberately — every known way around it.
The mechanism
When you approve the shield, iOS installs a local Network Extension — Apple's sanctioned system for on-device traffic filtering. While a wall is up, DNS lookups for covered domains are answered with nothing; the app or browser simply fails to load the book. Everything else resolves normally through your existing connection. There is no Untilt server in the path: the check happens on the phone, which is why it works identically on Wi-Fi and cellular and adds no measurable latency.
The blocklist
Coverage is deliberately narrow and deep: US sportsbooks, DFS pick'em operators, prediction markets, and the common offshore books — across their app-traffic and web domains. The coverage index lists the majors. Misses reported from inside the app ship in blocklist updates; the dated stamp at the bottom of every page tracks the current release. Pro users can extend coverage with custom domains (including brokerage or crypto-trading domains, if that's your version of the action — added by choice, never by default).
Honest disclosure: the ways around the wall
No consumer tool on a phone you own can be impossible to defeat, and any blocker claiming otherwise is marketing at you. The known paths, plainly: deleting the app ends the wall (Pro's deletion protection uses Screen Time to block deletion while a wall is active — a real barrier, bounded by your own Screen Time passcode). Another device — laptop, iPad, someone else's phone — is outside this wall entirely. A book we haven't listed loads until it's reported and shipped. In person — a casino or a retail window — is a different problem than the one this tool solves.
Design position: each of those paths costs minutes, and minutes are the whole game. Urges crest and recede; a wall that turns a one-tap bet into a multi-step project outlasts most of them. That is the honest claim — serious friction, precisely when you asked for it, never magic. For the layers this tool can't cover: self-exclusion and the helpline below.
Update cadence and corrections

Does Untilt see my browsing?
No. Filtering happens on the device via Apple's Network Extension. There is no Untilt server in your traffic path, no account, and no analytics on what you visit. STOPS receipts are stored locally on the phone.

We do, continuously — sportsbooks, DFS pick'em operators, prediction markets, and the offshore books people actually drift to, across their app and web domains. Misses reported from the app ship in updates.
Why publish the ways around the wall?
Because you already know them, and pretending otherwise would cost the only thing a tool like this runs on: trust. The wall's job is to be slower to defeat than an urge is to pass. Stated plainly, that's a bet the wall usually wins.
